Nick Davila
Nick Davila Sent back to minors
Tue, May 26, 2026, 1:28 PM
The Mariners optioned Davila to Triple-A Tacoma on Tuesday.
Analysis: Davila hasn't allowed a run in his first 7.1 big-league innings, but a 4:6 K:BB over that stretch points to trouble down the road. The 27-year-old is heading out in order to free roster space for the return of Gabe Speier (shoulder).
Gabe Speier
Gabe Speier Returns from IL
Tue, May 26, 2026, 1:26 PM
The Mariners activated Speier (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list Tuesday.
Analysis: Speier has been out for all of May with left shoulder inflammation, but he's been cleared to rejoin the Mariners' bullpen after making a couple rehab appearances. Nick Davila has been optioned to Triple-A Tacoma to free a spot on the active roster for Speier's return.
Miles Mastrobuoni
Miles Mastrobuoni Begins rehab assignment
Tue, May 26, 2026, 9:02 AM
Mastrobuoni (calf) began a rehab assignment Monday with the Mariners' Arizona Complex League affiliate, going 0-for-2 with a 1:1 K:BB.
Analysis: It was his first game action in more than four weeks, as he is working his way back from a right calf strain. The utility player should move up to a higher affiliate soon and is tracking toward a return in early June.
Gabe Speier
Gabe Speier Nearing return from IL
Mon, May 25, 2026, 6:49 PM
Speier (shoulder) has joined the Mariners in Sacramento and could be activated from the 15-day injured list soon, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Speier has appeared in two minor-league games on the way back from left shoulder inflammation, most recently firing a scoreless frame while striking out two Saturday against Triple-A Salt Lake. Manager Dan Wilson hasn't revealed whether Speier will be activated in time for Monday's series opener, though he noted the southpaw could return shortly, per Kramer.
Cal Raleigh
Cal Raleigh Starting light baseball activities
Mon, May 25, 2026, 6:44 PM
Raleigh (oblique) is slated for light catch play Monday, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: It marks Raleigh's first baseball activity since being placed on the 10-day injured list in mid-May due to a right oblique strain. He'll continue his rehab program in Arizona, and the Mariners should have a better sense of Raleigh's recovery timeline once he progresses to other activities such as swinging a bat.
Mitch Garver
Mitch Garver Sitting Sunday
Mon, May 25, 2026, 4:44 PM
Garver is not in the Mariners' starting lineup against the Athletics on Monday.
Analysis: Garver will get a breather after going 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in Sunday's series finale against the Royals. Jhonny Pereda will start behind home plate for the Mariners on Monday and bat eighth.
Julio Rodriguez
Julio Rodriguez Mashes ninth homer in loss
Sun, May 24, 2026, 9:36 PM
Rodriguez went 2-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's 8-6 loss to the Royals.
Analysis: The All-Star center fielder is heating up at the dish, hitting safely in five of his last six games. Additionally, Rodriguez has picked up multiple knocks in three of his past four outings. He'll need to pick up the pace if he wants to record his fifth straight 20-steal campaign -- Rodriguez has just five thefts so far -- but the slugger is batting a healthy .260 with nine homers, 11 doubles, 23 RBI and 29 runs scored across 215 at-bats.
Bryan Woo
Bryan Woo Falls apart in fifth inning
Sun, May 24, 2026, 9:30 PM
Woo (4-3) took the loss Sunday against the Royals, allowing four runs on six hits and two walks in 4.2 innings. He struck out four.
Analysis: Sunday's start broke up a string of four consecutive outings with six innings for Woo, who yielded his second-most runs of the season as well. It was just the second time this year that the 26-year-old right-hander failed to pitch at least five innings, as he had been cruising along until Kansas City torched him for four runs in the fifth frame. Woo will bring a 3.82 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 59:14 K:BB over 63.2 innings into his next scheduled outing at home against Arizona.
Luis Castillo
Luis Castillo Starting in pairing with Miller
Sun, May 24, 2026, 5:01 PM
Mariners manager Dan Wilson said that Castillo will start Monday's game against the Athletics in Sacramento and will be used as part of a tandem with Bryce Miller, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
Analysis: In his last appearance Tuesday against the White Sox, Castillo pitched in relief for the first time in his 10-year big-league career, covering 2.1 frames and allowing two earned runs behind Miller, who started and worked the first 5.2 innings. The two will be deployed in the opposite order for the upcoming turn through the rotation, and while Castillo should have a higher innings floor as a starter, his poor form of late could result in Wilson leaning on Miller to handle the larger share of the pitching workload. Though the Mariners are taking a fluid approach to the back end of the rotation, Castillo may need a positive showing against the Athletics to avoid a demotion into a more traditional bullpen role. He'll head into Monday's start with a 6.41 ERA and 1.55 WHIP on the season, with both ratios being the worst marks of his career by a considerable margin.
Bryce Miller
Bryce Miller Following Castillo on Monday
Sun, May 24, 2026, 4:51 PM
Mariners manager Dan Wilson said that Miller will pitch out of the bullpen behind starter Luis Castillo in Monday's game against the Athletics in Sacramento, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
Analysis: Since being activated May 13 following a season-opening stint on the injured list, Miller has looked sharp over his first two starts, covering 5.1 and 5.2 innings in those outings while posting a collective 1.64 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 10:2 K:BB. The Mariners used Castillo for 2.1 innings out of the bullpen in Miller's latter start, and while the two will work in tandem once again Monday, the order that they pitch will be reversed. Seattle will likely let Castillo work a little bit longer in a starting role than he did as a reliever his last time out, but Miller could still end up covering the bulk of the innings, given that he's been the better performer of the two thus far. Pitching out of the bullpen may also increase Miller's odds of earning his first win of the season, after the Mariners held him to fewer than 85 pitches as a starter in both of his previous two starts.
George Kirby
George Kirby Serviceable in fourth loss
Sat, May 23, 2026, 10:01 PM
Kirby (5-4) took the loss Saturday against the Royals, allowing five runs (three earned) on nine hits and no walks in six innings. He struck out three.
Analysis: After giving up a season-worst six runs in his last start against the Padres, Kirby put together a solid bounce-back effort on the road Saturday. The Royals jumped on the right-hander for three runs in the first inning, but a throwing error by Cole Young kept a pair of earned runs off Kirby's ledger in what was the hurler's sixth quality start this year. Kirby will bring a steady 3.54 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 55:16 K:BB across 68.2 innings into his next scheduled outing against Arizona.
Mitch Garver
Mitch Garver Resting up Saturday
Sat, May 23, 2026, 12:22 PM
Garver isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Royals.
Analysis: Garver will catch a breather after going 2-for-4 with a two-run homer during Friday's series opener. Jhonny Pereda will pick up a start behind the dish and bat eighth.
Eduard Bazardo
Eduard Bazardo Picks up third win of season
Sat, May 23, 2026, 8:37 AM
Bazardo (3-2) earned the win Friday against the Royals after tossing 1.1 perfect innings, striking out three.
Analysis: Bazardo entered the game with two outs in the sixth and retired Salvador Perez before striking out the side in the seventh. Bazardo needed just 25 pitches (15 strikes) to record those four outs, continuing an impressive stretch of late. He's gone 1-0 with a 1.93 ERA and 8:3 K:BB across his last five outings (4.2 innings), allowing just one earned run over that span.
Andres Munoz
Andres Munoz Ninth save of season
Sat, May 23, 2026, 8:33 AM
Munoz picked up the save Friday against the Royals after pitching a perfect ninth inning. He did not record a strikeout.
Analysis: Munoz needed 16 pitches (nine strikes) to close out the door on the Royals in the ninth inning, retiring Salvador Perez, Carter Jensen and Jac Caglianone. Even though Munoz didn't record a strikeout in this outing, he also didn't allow any walks or hits. Munoz is 9-for-12 in save chances this season, and while he was charged with a blown save against the White Sox on Tuesday, this was his fifth straight scoreless outing and he's posted a 7:0 K:BB in that stretch.
Logan Gilbert
Logan Gilbert Fans six in no-decision
Sat, May 23, 2026, 8:26 AM
Gilbert didn't factor into the decision Friday against the Royals, allowing two hits and two walks while striking out six across 5.2 scoreless innings.
Analysis: Gilbert delivered a big bounce-back performance after allowing seven runs and three homers over 6.2 frames against the Padres in his previous start May 16. Gilbert's been plagued by inconsistency so far this season. Even though he's allowed one or zero runs in three of his last five starts, he's given up 11 runs (and seven homers) in the other two outings during that stretch. All things considered, he's a better pitcher than his 3.68 ERA over those five starts would indicate. He's scheduled to make his next start at home against the A's.
Mitch Garver
Mitch Garver Blasts two-run homer in win
Sat, May 23, 2026, 8:02 AM
Garver went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's win over the Royals.
Analysis: Garver's two-run homer was not only all the offense the Mariners produced throughout the game, but they were the lone two runs of the entire game. Garver has been slumping at the plate recently, tallying just four hits across 28 at-bats in 13 games since the beginning of May -- although two of those have left the yard. Expect Garver to handle the majority of the catching reps as long as Cal Raleigh (oblique) remains sidelined, but Garver should not be expected to be a major fantasy contributor. He's hitting just .143 with a .690 OPS in 13 games in May.
Josh Naylor
Josh Naylor Idle Friday
Fri, May 22, 2026, 4:09 PM
Naylor is not in the Mariners' starting lineup against the Royals on Friday.
Analysis: The Royals are sending southpaw Noah Cameron to the mound Friday, so the lefty-hitting Naylor will be on the bench while Patrick Wisdom starts at first base and bats fifth. Naylor is slashing .212/.263/.231 with six RBI in 57 plate appearances against left-handers this season.
J.P. Crawford
J.P. Crawford Back in lineup Friday
Fri, May 22, 2026, 3:27 PM
Crawford (triceps) is hitting leadoff and playing shortstop Friday against the Royals.
Analysis: Crawford was scratched from the lineup Wednesday against the White Sox with a sore triceps, but he's back in there following Thursday's off day. With Crawford at shortstop, rookie Colt Emerson is playing third base and hitting ninth. Crawford is hitting just .210 this season but has a .358 on-base percentage.
Connor Joe
Connor Joe Dispatched to Triple-A
Fri, May 22, 2026, 11:45 AM
The Mariners optioned Joe to Triple-A Tacoma on Friday.
Analysis: With Victor Robles (pectoral) back from the injured list, Joe loses his spot on the 26-man roster. Joe has slashed .182/.308/.333 with one home run, three RBI, two runs scored, two stolen bases and a 6:11 BB:K across 39 plate appearances with Seattle.
Victor Robles
Victor Robles Activated from injured list
Fri, May 22, 2026, 11:42 AM
The Mariners activated Robles (pectoral) from the 10-day injured list Friday.
Analysis: In a corresponding move, Seattle optioned Connor Joe to Triple-A Tacoma. Robles hasn't played at the big-league level since April 6 due to a strained right pec. He appeared in 12 games with Tacoma on a rehab assignment and slashed .256/.389/.349 with four doubles, seven RBI, 10 runs scored, two stolen bases and a 9:13 BB:K across 54 plate appearances. He's likely to see most of his at-bats against lefties with the Mariners.
