Jose Castillo
Jose Castillo Designated for assignment
Fri, Sep 12, 2025, 5:39 PM
The Mariners designated Castillo for assignment Friday.
Analysis: Castillo's run with the Mariners will end after just nine days, during which he gave up one unearned run in three innings across three appearances. Casey Legumina will come up from Triple-A Tacoma to fill the vacancy in Seattle's bullpen.
Casey Legumina
Casey Legumina Back with Seattle
Fri, Sep 12, 2025, 5:36 PM
The Mariners recalled Legumina from Triple-A Tacoma on Friday.
Analysis: Legumina has fired 5.2 shutout innings while striking out eight batters since being sent down to Triple-A in mid-August. He'll now return to Seattle to take on a middle-relief role and replace Jose Castillo, who was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.
Victor Robles
Victor Robles Sitting Thursday
Thu, Sep 11, 2025, 4:22 PM
Robles isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Angels, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports.
Analysis: Robles will head to the bench for a second consecutive game Thursday after going 5-for-17 since coming back from his suspension. His absence will allow Luke Raley to start in right field while batting seventh.
Victor Robles
Victor Robles Idle Wednesday
Wed, Sep 10, 2025, 4:34 PM
Robles isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cardinals.
Analysis: Robles has gone 5-for-16 with three runs scored in four games since returning from his suspension, but the Mariners will give him a day to rest Wednesday while they send out Dominic Canzone to cover right field.
Leo Rivas
Leo Rivas Resting Tuesday
Tue, Sep 9, 2025, 4:50 PM
Rivas isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cardinals.
Analysis: Rivas will receive a day to rest Tuesday after going 2-for-11 with an RBI and a run scored over his last five games. Jorge Polanco will cover second base in Rivas' absence while Mitch Garver serves as the DH.
Andres Munoz
Andres Munoz Locks down 33rd save
Tue, Sep 9, 2025, 6:49 AM
Munoz picked up the save in Monday's 4-2 win over the Cardinals. He allowed no hits and a walk while striking out two over a scoreless inning.
Analysis: The hard-throwing righty made quick work of St. Louis, issuing only a one-out walk to Ivan Herrera before striking out Alec Burleson and Nolan Gorman to secure his 33rd save of the season. It was Munoz's first outing since Aug. 31, as Seattle's schedule since then featured a four-game losing skid followed by back-to-back blowout wins over Atlanta that didn't require his services.
Bryan Woo
Bryan Woo Earns 13th win
Tue, Sep 9, 2025, 6:37 AM
Woo (13-7) earned the win Monday, allowing two runs on three hits and no walks over six innings in a 4-2 victory over St. Louis. He struck out nine.
Analysis: Woo delivered six strong innings Monday, halting a brief two-start stretch of shorter outings after previously going six-plus in each of his first 25 starts. The right-hander has been one of MLB's most reliable arms this season, compiling a 3.02 ERA and 0.95 WHIP across 175.2 innings in 28 starts. While not overpowering with strikeouts (9.1 K/9), his nine punchouts Monday tied a season high, and his elite command (1.7 BB/9) continues to fuel his consistency.
Leo Rivas
Leo Rivas Poaching starts from Cole Young
Mon, Sep 8, 2025, 7:44 PM
Rivas will start at second base and bat ninth in Sunday's game against the Cardinals.
Analysis: Since being called up from Triple-A Tacoma when the Mariners' active roster expanded from 26 to 28 men, Rivas has gone 3-for-10 with a pair of extra-base hits and two walks. Though the sample has been small, Rivas' performance appears to have at least temporarily allowed him to overtake Cole Young as Seattle's preferred option at the keystone. The switch-hitting Rivas will be included in the starting nine for the third time in four games, including a second straight matchup versus a right-handed starting pitcher (Miles Mikolas).
Logan Evans
Logan Evans On track for rehab assignment
Mon, Sep 8, 2025, 5:12 PM
Evans (elbow) threw a bullpen session Monday and is on track to begin a rehab assignment next week, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports.
Analysis: Evans landed on the 15-day injured list on Aug. 15 due to right elbow inflammation and will likely need just one or two rehab starts in the minors to get stretched back out. Prior to being deactivated, Evans went 6-5 with a 4.37 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 58:30 K:BB across 78.1 innings over 15 starts with Seattle. With the Seattle rotation currently at full strength, Evans could be relegated to a bullpen role once he's reinstated.
Ryan Bliss
Ryan Bliss Tears meniscus at Triple-A
Mon, Sep 8, 2025, 5:03 PM
Mariners manager Justin Hollander said Monday that Bliss (biceps) tore the meniscus in his right knee while on a rehab assignment with Triple-A Tacoma and is out for the rest of the season, Tim Booth of The Seattle Times reports.
Analysis: Bliss had been on the shelf since April 9 due to a left biceps tear that required surgery, but he appeared to be on the cusp of a return from the 60-day injured list after going 5-for-13 with three doubles, four walks, two stolen bases and seven RBI through his first six rehab games with Tacoma. Unfortunately for the 25-year-old infielder, he seemingly suffered the knee injury over the weekend and required another surgery Monday. Hollander didn't provide a timeline for Bliss' return from the knee procedure, but if Bliss required a full repair of the meniscus, he could be out of action for the start of spring training.
Victor Robles
Victor Robles Third straight start in right field
Mon, Sep 8, 2025, 4:16 PM
Robles will start in right field and bat eighth in Monday's game versus the Cardinals.
Analysis: The right-handed-hitting Robles has started in all three of the Mariners' contests since being reinstated from a seven-game suspension, and Monday marks the second time he's faced a right-handed starter during that stretch. Robles has reached base twice in both of his first two games back from suspension and looks to have leapfrogged Dominic Canzone on the depth chart in right field.
Dominic Canzone
Dominic Canzone Losing work to Robles
Mon, Sep 8, 2025, 4:13 PM
Canzone is not in the lineup for Monday's contest against the Cardinals.
Analysis: Victor Robles will pick up a third straight start in right field since completing a seven-game suspension, and he's been included in the lineup twice against right-handed starting pitchers. The left-handed-hitting Canzone appears to be fading into a reserve role for the Mariners after he had mostly occupied the strong side of a platoon following his promotion from Triple-A Tacoma on June 9.
Cole Young
Cole Young Losing grip on starting job
Mon, Sep 8, 2025, 4:08 PM
Young is absent from the lineup for Monday's game against the Cardinals.
Analysis: The left-handed-hitting Young has now been out of the lineup for five consecutive games, and Monday marks the third time during that stretch that he's sat against a right-handed starting pitcher (Miles Mikolas). Leo Rivas will get the nod at the keystone in the series opener with St. Louis and may have overtaken Young as the Mariners' preferred option at the position. Young's drop in playing time comes while he's gone just 2-for-38 (.053 average) over his last 15 games.
Eugenio Suarez
Eugenio Suarez Two more homers Sunday
Sun, Sep 7, 2025, 2:34 PM
Suarez went 2-for-5 with a pair of homers and three total RBI in Sunday's 18-2 win over Atlanta.
Analysis: Suarez extended Seattle's lead to 11-1 with his first homer in the sixth inning before launching a 411-foot blast off position player Vidal Brujan in the ninth. Suarez has homered three times in his last two contests, giving him 45 long balls this season, four shy of his career high. The third baseman is slashing .238/.309/.550 with 109 RBI and 83 runs scored across 576 plate appearances between the Mariners and Diamondbacks this year.
Luis Castillo
Luis Castillo Bounces back in ninth win
Sun, Sep 7, 2025, 2:14 PM
Castillo (9-8) earned the win over Atlanta on Sunday, allowing one run on four hits and no walks across six innings. He struck out six.
Analysis: It was a much-needed outing for Castillo, who earned his first win since July 28 -- he'd struggled to a 10.06 ERA in his previous four starts (17 innings). Overall, Castillo's ERA sits at 3.85 on the year with a 1.27 WHIP and 144:44 K:BB through 29 starts (161.1 innings). Castillo will look to build on Saturday's effort his next time out, currently lined up for next week against the Angels.
Julio Rodriguez
Julio Rodriguez Reaches 30 homers
Sun, Sep 7, 2025, 6:53 AM
Rodriguez went 3-for-5 with two home runs, four RBI, a hit-by-pitch and an additional run scored in Saturday's 10-2 win over Atlanta.
Analysis: Rodriguez powered Seattle's offense with his 29th and 30th long balls of the year, marking his third multi-homer game of the season and his fifth home run in the last seven contests. During that stretch, the 24-year-old has gone 9-for-29 (.310) with 12 RBI and six runs scored. On the season, Rodriguez is up to a .265/.317/.475 slash line with 86 RBI, 93 runs, 24 doubles and 24 stolen bases across 628 plate appearances.
Bryce Miller
Bryce Miller Settles for no-decision Saturday
Sun, Sep 7, 2025, 6:24 AM
Miller didn't factor into the decision against Atlanta on Saturday, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out three over 5.1 innings.
Analysis: Miller kept things in check early, retiring nine of the first 10 batters he faced, before surrendering a solo homer to Matt Olson to lead off the fourth inning, extending his streak to eight straight starts with a long ball allowed. The right-hander was lifted in the sixth after issuing a walk to Ronald Acuna that loaded the bases, and the bullpen let one of those runners come home. Miller finished just two outs shy of recording back-to-back quality starts for the first time this season. The 27-year-old will carry a 5.53 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 53:29 K:BB across 70 innings into his next scheduled start against the Angels.
Eugenio Suarez
Eugenio Suarez Smashes 43rd homer in rout
Sat, Sep 6, 2025, 9:55 PM
Suarez went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Saturday's 10-2 win over Atlanta.
Analysis: The homer was the 43rd of the season for Suarez and his seventh with the Mariners. The All-Star third baseman is running out of time if he wants to record the first 50-homer campaign of his career, and the move to Seattle has done no favors for his fantasy value. Suarez has been fine with a .751 OPS over 17 games on the road since joining the M's, but his .609 OPS across 16 outings at pitcher-friendly T-Mobile Park is significantly dragging down his appeal for home contests.
Cal Raleigh
Cal Raleigh Up to 52 homers in 2025
Sat, Sep 6, 2025, 9:37 PM
Raleigh went 1-for-5 with a solo home run, a walk and an additional run scored in Saturday's 10-2 win over Atlanta.
Analysis: Raleigh added to his historic campaign, belting his 52nd homer of the season. The All-Star backstop has opened the month of September with a five-game hitting streak, smashing two long balls during that span. Raleigh has easily been fantasy's top catcher in all settings in 2025, slashing a robust .242/.351/.578 with 19 doubles, 110 RBI, 92 runs scored and 14 stolen bases across 613 plate appearances.
Gregory Santos
Gregory Santos Beginning rehab assignment
Sat, Sep 6, 2025, 3:59 PM
Santos (knee) is slated to begin a minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A Tacoma on Saturday, Shannon Drayer of SeattleSports.com reports.
Analysis: Santos hasn't pitched with Seattle since April 15 but is aiming for a return to the Mariners at some point this month. The right-hander struggled to a 5.14 ERA and 2.29 WHIP across eight early-season appearances before getting hurt.
