Cal Raleigh
Cal Raleigh Up to 24 homers
Thu, Jun 5, 2025, 6:39 PM
Raleigh went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and three total RBI in Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Orioles.
Analysis: Raleigh got the Mariners on the board in the third inning, tying the game 1-1 with an RBI single, before smacking his league-leading 24th homer off Zach Eflin in the fifth. It's been an incredible year thus far for the 28-year-old Raleigh -- he has at least one hit in 13 of his last 15 contests, going 20-for-58 (.345) with nine home runs in that span. Overall, Raleigh is batting .268 with a 1.015 OPS, 49 RBI and 41 runs scored through his first 265 plate appearances this season.
Bryan Woo
Bryan Woo Falls to Baltimore
Thu, Jun 5, 2025, 5:33 PM
Woo (5-3) took the loss Thursday against the Orioles, allowing four runs on four hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out six.
Analysis: Woo got off to a nice start Thursday, holding Baltimore to one run on just two hits through his first five innings. However, things would unravel in the sixth when Woo gave up three runs on back-to-back homers from Adley Rutschman and Gunnar Henderson. Woo's been hurt by the long ball recently -- he's given up four homers over 12.2 innings in his last two outings. Overall, the 25-year-old right-hander's ERA sits at 3.07 with a 0.96 WHIP and 69:11 K:BB across 12 starts (76.1 innings) this season. Woo will look to rebound in his next start, tentatively lined up for next week on the road in Arizona.
Luke Raley
Luke Raley Hopes to begin rehab work next week
Thu, Jun 5, 2025, 12:53 PM
Raley (oblique) hopes to begin a minor-league rehab assignment early next week, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports.
Analysis: Raley felt good after taking max-effort swings Wednesday for the first time since going on the injured list, which looks to be one of his final steps before returning to game action on an assignment. The 30-year-old slugger has been recuperating from a right oblique strain since the end of April, and he's tracking toward rejoining the Mariners at some point in mid-to-late June. Seattle is using a combination of Leody Taveras and Dylan Moore in right field in Raley's absence, while Rowdy Tellez and Donovan Solano have worked in a platoon at first base.
Ben Williamson
Ben Williamson Grabbing seat Thursday
Thu, Jun 5, 2025, 11:33 AM
Williamson is not in the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Orioles.
Analysis: Williamson started at third base in each of the previous 15 contests for then Mariners, but he'll get a breather in Thursday's afternoon tilt. Miles Mastrobuoni will fill in at the hot corner and hit eighth as Seattle tries to avoid the sweep.
Daniel Bard
Daniel Bard Secures MiLB deal with M's
Wed, Jun 4, 2025, 9:10 PM
Bard signed a minor-league contract with the Mariners on Wednesday, Rob Bradford of WEEI.com reports.
Analysis: Fully recovered from a flexor tendon repair surgery he underwent in April 2024, Bard threw in front of several scouts in May and evidently did well enough to capture Seattle's attention. The 39-year-old righty will begin building up at the team's complex in Arizona before joining the bullpen at Triple-A Tacoma. If he proves to be effective in the minors, Bard could work his way into the Mariners' bullpen, though his days of being used as a closer are likely behind him at this point.
Collin Snider
Collin Snider Placed on injured list
Wed, Jun 4, 2025, 7:56 PM
The Mariners placed Snider on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with a right forearm flexor strain.
Analysis: After starting the year with a 3.52 ERA and 1.13 WHIP through 23 innings, Snider has given up nine runs (seven earned) in only 3.1 frames across his last three appearances, and it's possible his forearm had something to do with his sudden drop in performance. He'll spend at least the next 15 days on the shelf; meanwhile, Casey Legumina will come up from Triple-A Tacoma to fill the vacancy in the Mariners' bullpen.
Casey Legumina
Casey Legumina Back in big leagues
Wed, Jun 4, 2025, 7:51 PM
The Mariners recalled Legumina from Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday.
Analysis: Seattle sent Legumina down to the minors Friday, but with Collin Snider (forearm) headed for the injured list, Legumina will rejoin the Mariners' bullpen. The 27-year-old righty owns a 4.58 ERA and 1.53 WHIP across 19.2 innings in the majors this season and will likely be kept in a middle relief role while with the big club.
Leody Taveras
Leody Taveras Out of Wednesday's lineup
Wed, Jun 4, 2025, 4:05 PM
Taveras is not in the Mariners' starting lineup against the Orioles on Wednesday.
Analysis: Taveras will begin Wednesday's game in the dugout after going 0-for-13 over his last four starts. Randy Arozarena, Julio Rodriguez and Dylan Moore will man the outfield for the Mariners.
Jesse Hahn
Jesse Hahn Back with Seattle on MiLB contract
Tue, Jun 3, 2025, 1:26 PM
The Mariners re-signed Hahn to a minor-league contract Tuesday.
Analysis: For the second time since the beginning of the season, Hahn has re-upped with the Mariners on a minor-league pact after being removed from their 40-man roster. He will provide relief depth at Triple-A Tacoma.
Joe Jacques
Joe Jacques Traded to Mariners
Mon, Jun 2, 2025, 8:01 AM
The Mariners acquired Jacques from the Dodgers on Monday in exchange for Will Klein, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports.
Analysis: Jacques has spent the entirety of the 2025 campaign at Triple-A Oklahoma City, where he's posted a 6.04 ERA but also a 24:8 K:BB over 22.1 innings. He will provide the Mariners with some experienced left-handed relief depth at Triple-A Tacoma.
Cal Raleigh
Cal Raleigh Keeps raking
Sun, Jun 1, 2025, 10:32 PM
Raleigh went 1-for-4 with a solo home run during Sunday's 2-1 win over the Twins.
Analysis: Raleigh went on a tear to end May and has carried some momentum into June. Since May 16 (16 games), Raleigh has launched 10 home runs and driven in 17 runs while going 18-for-59 (.305) at the plate. He's gone yard in three consecutive games and has the solo lead for most home runs in baseball with 23. In 253 plate appearances, Raleigh boasts a 1.016 OPS.
Andres Munoz
Andres Munoz Blows save, sticks around for win
Sun, Jun 1, 2025, 10:32 PM
Munoz (2-0) picked up the win after blowing a save in Sunday's 2-1 victory over the Twins, allowing one run on one hit and one walk with two strikeouts across one inning.
Analysis: Munoz entered the game with a 1-0 advantage and struck out the first batter he faced. He walked Kody Clemens and allowed a single to Ty France immediately after, before advancing both runners on a wild pitch to set up Harrison Bader's game-tying sacrifice fly. Thankfully for Munoz, Randy Arozarena walked it off for the Mariners in the bottom of the ninth, allowing the closer to escape with a victory. Munoz has blown back-to-back save chances, spoiling his previously spotless 0.00 ERA and increasing it to 1.40.
Luis Castillo
Luis Castillo Blanks Twins in no-decision
Sun, Jun 1, 2025, 10:31 PM
Castillo didn't factor into the decision Sunday against Minnesota, allowing four hits and two walks with five strikeouts over six scoreless innings.
Analysis: No runs were scored until the seventh inning of Sunday's contest, leaving Castillo without the victory despite the excellent outing. The 32-year-old has now logged four consecutive quality starts, and he owns a 1.44 ERA and a 22:5 K:BB during that stretch. While his strikeout rate is down from 9.0 K/9 in 2024 to 7.2 K/9 in 2025, Castillo holds a 3.03 ERA, which would be his best since 2022. He's expected to pitch next weekend against the Angels.
Dylan Moore
Dylan Moore Sitting for third straight game
Sun, Jun 1, 2025, 2:27 PM
Moore is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins.
Analysis: For the third straight game, Moore is on the bench against a right-handed pitcher, a sign that he's lost hold of his spot in the Mariners' everyday lineup. Cole Young will pick up his second consecutive start at the keystone following his call-up from Triple-A Tacoma and looks as though he'll be prioritized ahead of Moore, who could end up filling the short side of a platoon at second base with the rookie.
Bryce Miller
Bryce Miller Gives up three runs in return
Sat, May 31, 2025, 11:25 PM
Miller allowed three runs on five hits and a walk while striking out two over four innings in a no-decision Saturday versus the Twins.
Analysis: Miller missed nearly three weeks due to right elbow inflammation, and he returned without a rehab assignment. That likely led to a pitch count, as he was pulled after 71 pitches (45 strikes), though he also struggled a bit, giving up all three runs in the second inning. Miller is now at a 5.36 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 37:22 K:BB through 43.2 innings over nine starts this season. The 26-year-old is projected to make his next start on the road versus the Angels.
Trent Thornton
Trent Thornton Starts rehab assignment
Sat, May 31, 2025, 11:02 PM
Thornton (abdomen) started a minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A Tacoma on Friday, MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Thornton, who is recovering from appendicitis, tossed 16 pitches and fanned two in a scoreless inning Friday. The 31-year-old veteran right-hander has been on the injured list since May 9, but he's now tracking toward a return to Seattle's bullpen sometime around the first or second week of June. Thornton has a 5.87 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 11:4 K:BB over 15.1 innings this season, and he'll likely work as a middle reliever once he rejoins the Mariners.
Will Klein
Will Klein DFA'd by Tridents
Sat, May 31, 2025, 2:38 PM
The Mariners designated Klein for assignment Saturday.
Analysis: The move makes room on the 40-man roster to allow the Mariners to select Cole Young's contract from Triple-A Tacoma. Klein has spent the entire season in Triple-A and has struggled with a 7.40 ERA, 2.03 WHIP, three saves and a 32:18 K:BB across 20.2 innings.
Casey Legumina
Casey Legumina Sent down to Triple-A
Sat, May 31, 2025, 2:36 PM
The Mariners optioned Legumina to Triple-A Tacoma following Friday's game against the Twins.
Analysis: Legumina allowed just five runs (three earned) over his first 18 major-league outings with the Mariners. However, he has yielded eight runs (seven earned) over his last two appearances out of the bullpen, which has inflated his ERA and WHIP to 4.58 and 1.53, respectively, across 19.2 innings. The move makes room on the 26-man roster for Bryce Miller (elbow), who was reinstated from the 15-day injured list Saturday.
Leo Rivas
Leo Rivas Optioned to Triple-A
Sat, May 31, 2025, 2:31 PM
The Mariners optioned Rivas to Triple-A Tacoma following Friday's game against the Twins.
Analysis: The move makes room on the 26-man roster for Cole Young, whose contract was selected by the Mariners from Tacoma. Rivas has served in a utility role for Seattle after being recalled by the big club in early April, and he is slashing .283/.411/.300 with four steals and four RBI in 73 major-league plate appearances this season. Rivas should receive a call back up to the majors this season should the Mariners need infield depth.
Bryce Miller
Bryce Miller Reinstated from IL ahead of start
Sat, May 31, 2025, 2:26 PM
The Mariners reinstated Miller (elbow) from the 15-day injured list ahead of his start against the Twins on Saturday.
Analysis: Miller landed on the 15-day injured list May 12 due to right elbow inflammation, but he progressed enough in his recovery to avoid a rehab assignment and will retake the mound for the Mariners on Saturday. The 26-year-old right-hander gave up 11 earned runs in nine innings across two starts before landing on the IL. In the six prior starts, Miller posted a 3.52 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 31:19 K:BB across 30.2 innings.
